Experienced Points: The Achilles' Heel of Steam

imageWe think of Steam as the unstoppable Jagganath of digital dispersion on the PC. And it is. Simply Steam is also a very vulnerable intersection. Sure, Valve is worth billions and they operate a shopfront where they enjoy huge margins on video game gross revenue without ever needing to personally develop any video games, but the integral Steam platform is a fortress built atop someone other's fundament. This means Steam could be toppled by some other company without that company needing to impermissible-execute Steam in the market.
